This piece of art is my way of expressing my anti-war feelings by imagining how deadly new technologies used in modern combat could be. It shows a conflict scene from the near future that will occur in a city. One of the cruelest forms of conflict is urban warfare, which frequently causes significant losses on both the offensive and defensive sides. The destruction of residential areas also significantly increases the number of civilian fatalities. Artwork name is "Breakthrough: Battle on the Outskirts", it tells a story of ferocious combat: "Breakthrough: Battle on the Outskirts" A veteran sergeant in a mechanized infantry regiment, Mira was severely injured during an intense combat that took place while his squad attempted to escape the besieged city. Despite being effective, the action was so expensive that more than 70% of the combatants in his unit perished. Perhaps Mira was blessed by the goddess of luck, since he eventually made a full recovery from his injuries. Years later, the passage from Mira's battle journal was made public during an interview: 13th day: Battle on the Outskirts By far, the siege had lasted for about two weeks. All supplies were gone, and all of the fuel and ammo could only last for two days, so we were defenseless. There are a few AFVs[1] in decent condition, which may be our only hope as the enemy keeps sending drones and several MBTs have been destroyed. The sound of a bullet striking the armor plate of my IFV nearly drove me insane, and I hoped none of those noises came from a cannon round because if they had, it would have been the last thing I heard before I die. I did not know how we made it finally, it was a miracle. All I can recall is that we continued to fire, and I could see from the commander's sight that our tracer rounds were illuminating enemy positions. EXPLOSION came from all directions. Regardless of our successful breakthrough, we suffered significant losses; I lost a member of my crew when he was instantly killed by an armor-piercing round. He was a good comrade. If not for his sacrifice, the entire crew might have all perished. *Note： [1] The Infantry Fighting Vehicle(IFV) that I depicted in artwork is a type of AFV, which is armed with an automatic cannon of at least 20mm caliber and sometimes an antitank missile launcher. It is designed and equipped primarily to transport a combat infantry squad, thus lightly armored and only immune to small caliber weapons.
