CoGeneration 05 : The CoGeneration series explores the power of AI-squared: artificial intelligence multiplied by artistic intelligence. Original photographs were fed into DALL-E to generate variations in various 20th abstract art styles. After selection, compositing and out-painting work lead to painstaking detailed image manipulation to create unique, impossible-to-repeat pieces. The image manipulation steps include cloning, cleaning and local geometrical distortion for rich content that engages close attention. The original photographs at the heart of each piece are themselves unique works. Born of stochastic, random events set off in a controlled environment, they are co-creations from the union of human sensibility with the tiniest of life events and accidents that, through being fused into art, become significant. CoGeneration explores the wealth and variety at the intersection of photography, fine art and text-to-image AI.
