AIscendences - Resizing reality dialogues and interactions between Art and generative Artificial Intelligence Art and nature are intimately connected in this project, which offers a reparative, poetic, and confident perspective on a world in flux. Our compositions explore the link between the real and the imaginary, between tools and machines, and between human and generative creativity. This duo project’s originality lies in the collaboration and cross-experiences that shape the direction of our respective research, stemming from our perspectives as artists. They question meaning, illusion, and reality to open creative fields, discover the plastic possibilities of materials, provoke discussions, and create new associations. The guiding thread evokes change and nature’s adaptability through the elements, referencing alchemy and its ability to give rise to new forms. The climate crisis, monumentality, relational utopia, and the environment are themes that hover over the giant installation generated by AI. In our works, composed of salt sculptures or blown glass, they resemble geological remains or precious stones. The original craftsmanship of the artist is paramount but is open and enriched by the infinite possibilities of generative creation, like ephemeral jewels transforming into magical mountains. Lived or fairy-tale landscapes testify to the evolution of art and the openness to mastering AI tools to generate new content. An open reflection on art, craftsmanship, and heritage in connection with technical or technological skills are fundamental questions raised by the conception of the work we propose. Thematic description of the work: The title of this work alludes to drawing, to rapid strokes drawn without figurative intent on a sheet of paper, formally made up of intertwining lines that intersect and suggest movement. In this case, the gesture appears petrified, tracing a kind of abstract scrawl that is inserted into space and found in a new, alternating form. The giant image of the work in the landscape retains the trace of the initial form, but in its giant unfolding it acquires an organic aspect like a hybrid mollusc from the abyssal depths stranded on the arid terrain of depopulated salt flats. Juxtaposing contrasts, the still shot of the great landscape captures the structure, fascinating and threatening, unstable and phantasmagorical. The giant scale unfolds the poetic potential of the work with a balance that it borrows by analogy from the artist's hand-drawn scrawl.
