Description

CAT’S EYE NEBULA (Blue) EVOLUTION OF THE STAR NGC 6543: Located in the Dragon Constellation, 3000 light years from our Earth. Represents the final phase of the life of a solar-type star. By gazing at the Cat's Eye, astronauts can see the fate of the sun in its own phase of evolution, in 5 billion years. A star like our dying Sun. Also studied by the telescope European space Gaia and dedicated to the cartography of the Milky Way. It was discovered by William Herschel on February 15, 1786. It turns out that this planetary nebula is located at the north ecliptic pole, one of the two areas intensely observed by Gaia during 4 weeks of testing from the 25th July to August 21, 2014. During this period the detector recorded 84 thousand light points during of 22 passages of the nebula. https://platform.wise.art/author/robert-2/ http://astroliva.ch/
