The idea for the work came when I saw a picture of cardinals dancing during a visit by the Pope on the news. I was hypnotised by the play of red and black colours, and the work emerged as a painting on the verge of abstraction, in which composition and colour are the only important thing and the motif plays a marginal role. Work made from my own drawings modelled with graphic design software.
