Michel YAKOVLEV, aka YAKO, was born in New York in 1963, and grew up in Geneva, where he began graffiti and exhibitions in the 80s. Graduating as a DPLG architect from the Grenoble School of Architecture in 1988, YAKO has lived in the Paris region since 1992. He runs his own Architectural office, YAKO ARCHITECTURE, and also produces a body of work comprising paintings, sculptures and ceramics. His characters, with their simple, meaningful physiognomy, tend towards universality.
